Kalinga Commercial Corporation started as a proprietorship entity in 1991 in Transport and construction sector in Odisha, in 2003-04 diversified with mechanized operation of mines. Thereafter it has grown considerably as a company with expertise in operating different mines for raising and transport of ores and minerals including mechanized ore handling and conveying system. During the period of boom in iron and steel sector, the company was involved in mineral trading, export, logistic support and infrastructure development in inaccessible mining areas and in the year 2009, it became a limited company as Kalinga Commercial Corporation Limited and also moved out of the state and started working in coal and chromite fields. Today KCCL has full-fledged team for mechanised mining, starting from exploration, assessment of mineral deposit, mine planning to operation of a mining project. The company always wanted to avail the prevailing opportunities and scope in mining sector, particularly in iron ore mining. Company aspired to be a leading mining company in the country, adopting safe working practices with concern for environment and welfare of local communities. Starting with production of less than 0.50 Million Tonnes in 2003-04, the company has achieved 8.5 Million Tonnes in 2017-18 and 11.83 Million Tonnes in 2018-19. The multidisciplinary team of the company has received awards for record productions from OMC, appreciation of WCL, Excellence Awards for Safe and Eco-Friendly working by statutory authorities of both state and central government and also recognition for welfare & corporate social responsibility measures have been undertaken.

Company’s technical and managerial strength comes from professionals having previous experience of working in various reputed mining and construction companies like Kudermukh Iron Ore Mines, SAIL, OMC, NALCO, Bhageeratha Eng Co. Pvt. Ltd, Techni Bharathi Ltd and other reputed companies. These experts have given foundation and scope for learning with the ongoing projects which has enriched the younger generation consisting of the work force of the company today. It is also an ISO 9001:2008 company in mining sector. From a modest beginning, the company has achieved a turnover of 483.41 Crores, PAT of 23.73 Crores and net worth of 148.37 Crores in 2018-19.
